Brian McSharry is currently a partner in Concepts to Companies, a South Carolina based venture capital fund that invests primarily in university based innovations. The fund has two portfolio firms, Recovr and Accessible Diagnostics. In 2014, Brian founded Fern Acquisitions as a family office to focus on leveraging the investor base across the Southeastern United States toward equity placements in the industrial market. The fund expects to close its first major investment in the automotive market in the first quarter of 2016. In 2013, Brian started Windward Mountain which made its first major investment earlier this year in a multi-use development in a tertiary market in South Carolina. Brian is the former COO and founder of SAGE Automotive Interiors, which spun off from Milliken in 2009 and has had three successful recapitalizations. Overall, investors have exceeded a twenty-five times return on invested capital over the initial five years. Prior to founding SAGE, Brian had a successful career with Milliken, including: leader of the corporate strategy and growth team focusing on the global cost competitiveness initiative in North and South America, Asia and Europe, director of global manufacturing strategy for North America and Operations Leader for Europe.
Brian serves on the Advisory Council and is the Chairman of the Richard Furman Society at Furman. He is active in his church and volunteers with Creating Artists for Tomorrow, an art studio for children started by his wife. Brian earned his bachelor of science in chemistry from Furman University. He is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Liberty Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Outside of the professional world, Brian enjoys watersports, outdoor activities and collecting art.
